Here are the principle initiatives, some were embedded in the foundation of our business, others are new implementations as we continue to look for ways to improve our practices.
We're proud to employ long wheel base cargo bikes to deliver our All Day, Every Day CBD orders. Not only do they reduce our carbon footprint, but they also allow us to navigate the inner city with ease and efficiency. Our riders are highly skilled and dedicated to their work, even in the rain! Green and lean, our food is delivered straight from our Flinders Lane kitchen - super fresh, on time. No van stuck in traffic blowing emissions for this company. Having said that, we do have vans for larger events and out of CBD requirements.
The cute little timber boxes that most of our All Day, Every Day office catering arrives in are from the Creative Opportunities workshop at the Salvation Army. They are fully
recyclable, our riders collect them and return to Goodie HQ where they are lovingly cleaned and sanitised before they head out on the road again, and again… Some of them have been with us for six years! Part of our response to the pandemic meant that we made the decision to, for a time, use disposable boxes for individually packed meals. The sheer volume of landfill heading out the door was confronting for everyone working in the business. We no longer work with disposable packaging and have fully returned to delivering in our recyclable packaging.
We understand the importance of minimising food waste and we're continually looking to clever menu design to reduce waste and have been composting for years now.
